CROSSES AT THE ROADSIDE
If I died tomorrow -
suddenly,
totally unprepared -
could I say:
I have really lived!
If I died tomorrow,
simply sucked
into death,
could I say:
I have looked ahead
for those I love!
If I dies tomorrow -
on the street,
not being guilty -
could I say:
I have a pure conscience!
Sometimes death comes
much too early
and unexpected.
Should we not live every day
like it was the last of our life?
What would be,
if there was
no tomorrow?
Crosses at the roadside,
they admonish us
to keep that in mind.
